What is the Kentucky Safety and Health Network Foundation?
The Kentucky Safety and Health Network Foundation (KSHNF), Inc. is a private, non-profit sister corporation to the Kentucky Safety and Health Network (KSHN). The Foundation’s purpose is to increase the level of occupational safety and health knowledge in the Commonwealth by awarding scholarships and grants.
What are CIRCLE Grants?
“Construction Industry Resource for Continued Learning and Education” or “CIRCLE” grants are monetary awards for individuals in the construction industry seeking a recognized certification in construction safety. The KSHNF is awarding two (2) $500 CIRCLE grants. Recognized certifications are:
American Society of Safety Engineers certificate programs.
Council on Certification of Health, Environmental and Safety Technologist Certification for Construction Health and Safety Technician.®
National Safety Council certificate programs.
OSHA 500 Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for Construction.
Who is Eligible to Receive a CIRCLE Grant?
Applicant must be a KY resident or an out of state resident employed by a KY based company.
Applicant must be employed in the construction industry.
Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements of the certification organization.
Applicant must obtain certification by December 31, 2008.

Complete an application and mail in or leave at the KSHN booth. The application is also available at www.kshn.net.
Deadline
All applications must be received or postmarked by midnight March 1, 2008. There are no exceptions. Applications are invalid and not considered if judged as not meeting the aforementioned criteria or submitting with inadequate application information. Neither the Foundation nor the KSHN will notify the applicant of incomplete or inadequate application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the application is complete.
CIRCLE grant recipients will be announced and contacted on or about April 30, 2008. The actual award in the form of a check will be provided to the recipient upon demonstration of successful certification. The KSHNF reserves the right to withdraw any award if the recipient does not fulfill any criteria.
