The Kentucky Safety and Health Network Inc.

The mission of the Kentucky Safety and Health Network Inc., is to increase the awareness of workplace safety and health.

We work to achieve this mission through educational programs, scholarships and endowments, and communications through state-wide symposia and our quarterly newsletter, the Network News.

Since 1985, KSHN, an independent, non-profit organization, has protected the commonwealth's work force from preventable injuries and illnesses related to the workplace. It is supported through membership dues from individuals, and sponsorships.

The objectives of the Network are:

  • To safeguard Kentucky's working men and women from those job related hazards which threaten personal safety and health;

  • To actively support rules, regulations and laws designed to eliminate injuries and illnesses which result from human or mechanical errors in the workplace;

  • To conduct a vigorous and continuing program of education for business, labor, education and government, designed to focus attention upon these hazards and how they may be avoided through cooperative efforts;

  • To provide specialized services designed to assist members in establishing and maintaining effective safety and health programs.

Major accomplishments of KSHN have been gaining national, state, and local recognition of efforts to create awareness in workplace safety and health, and sponsorship of events that improve conditions and ensure ongoing commitments toward improved health and safety.

Other concerns of KSHN include emergency response, right-to-know issues, AIDS, alcohol and drug abuse, and other social, economic and medical concerns.

KSHN benefits everyone! The combined expertise of our membership plays a vital role in the protection and safety of workers.

What can the KSHN Network do for you?

The working partnership formed between employees and employers across the Commonwealth supports labor, management, government and academic activities. KSHN promotes and increases the awareness of workplace safety and health.

The annual Governor's Safety and Health Conference and Exposition allows professionals to exhibit their products to a targeted market of more than 1800 people. Conference registrants gain information from seminars held throughout the conference and from the exposition. KSHN remains a valuable tool for both members and sponsors by promoting safety and health in the workplace - the primary mission of the organization.
